Brussels, 04/02/2000 (Agence Europe) - The European Commission has approved German aid of 1.5 million euro (DM 3 million) for the restructuring of Armaturen Technik Magdeburg in the Land of Sachsen-Anhalt. The aim is to improve the productivity of the company that manufactures industrial valves used in engineering as well as by gas and water distribution networks. The restructuring plan provides for cooperation with the retail company "S+S Armaturentechnik GmbH Engineering-Service-Vertrieb". The European competition services considered that this State aid should re-establish the company's long-term viability and that it complies with Community rules applicable to aid to the restructuring of companies in difficulty.
