Appellate body confirms conclusions of panel condemning Argentine protectionist measures on European shoes

Brussels/Geneva, 14/01/2000 (Agence Europe) - The WTO dispute settlement body confirmed this week, in appeal, the panel's report that supported the EU in condemning the protectionist measures applied by Argentina on the import of textiles, clothes and shoes. Argentina indicated that it will conform with the panel's conclusions, while believing that they are without basis. The Argentine government must present the WTO within the month a report detailing the measures it intends taking....
