24/07/2026 (Agence Europe) – The European Commission’s Oil Coordination Group, made up of experts from EU Member States, industry, the International Energy Agency, NATO and the Commission, stated on Thursday 23 July that “there is no supply problem at this stage”. The experts acknowledged that “the duration of the conflict in the Middle East could have a significant impact in the coming weeks and months and further tighten the markets”, echoing the IEA’s Executive Director, Fatih Birol, who spoke on Tuesday (see EUROPE 13914/25). Nevertheless, the Coordination Group said, “demand for crude oil and oil products in Europe can continue to be met through commercial stocks and alternative supplies from global markets”. (ND)
