EU convinced that Russian Supreme Court’s designation of Memorial as an extremist organisation is politically motivated 

Anouar El Anouni, spokesman for the European External Action Service (EEAS), said on Friday 10 April that the Russian Supreme Court’s decision the previous day to recognise Memorial as an extremist organisation was “a politically motivated blow to civil society in Russia”.

“This organisation remains a bastion of historical memory and human rights protection”, he added.
