European Commission proposes entering a surplus of €2.1 billion into 2026 budget

10/04/26 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 10 April, the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Budget (DG BUDG) published draft amending budget No. 1 to the 2026 general budget in order to enter into the 2026 budget the surplus generated in 2025. This surplus, estimated at around €2.1 billion, will be included as revenue, as provided for in the European Union’s financial regulations.
