EU ambassadors approve extension of EIOPA Chairperson’s mandate

Brussels, 25/03/2026 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 25 March, the Member States’ ambassadors to the European Union (Coreper) approved an EU Council decision to extend the mandate of Petra Hielkema, Chairperson of the European Insurance and Occupational Pensions Authority (EIOPA). Ms Hielkema’s mandate initially runs until 31 August 2026. The decision on an extension still has to be formally adopted by the Council of the EU. (BD)
