23/03/26 (Agence Europe) – On 18 March, the European Commission imposed a definitive anti-dumping duty of 122.8% on imports of phosphorous acid from the People’s Republic of China to the EU. Phosphorous acid is a chemical used in the manufacture of phosphonates and other chemicals. Phosphonates are used in a variety of industrial sectors, including water treatment, agriculture, construction, textiles and pharmaceuticals. Following an investigation, the Commission revealed that imports of phosphorous acid from China were being made at dumped prices, “causing injury to European industry”, particularly in Germany and the Netherlands. The European phosphorous acid market is worth €18 million, including €9.7 million in imports from China. To see the rules: https://aeur.eu/f/lau (PLD)
