On Monday 23 March, the European Commission approved a Danish scheme to construct and operate two offshore wind farms: Hesselø (expected production: 3.2 TWh) and North Sea I Mid (4.6 TWh), which will supply around 25% of the electricity generated in Denmark in 2025.
With a budget of €5 billion over 20 years, this project will provide companies, which will be selected following a competitive bidding process, with direct support for the resale price of the electricity produced.
