17/02/2026 (Agence Europe) – Sources representing EU employers pointed out to Agence Europe that, contrary to what we wrote on Friday, 13 February (see EUROPE 13808/3), the European Parliament did not call for a European framework on the issue of subcontracting but for a European strategy to combat abuses. A legislative framework was not, in fact, requested as Agence Europe had written—MEPs having overwhelmingly voted against the paragraphs calling for such a framework. The European Parliament also rejected proposals for legislative measures concerning the accountability of subcontractors in the chain as well as those relating to the limitation of such accountability.
