09/01/2025 (Agence Europe) – In its latest information bulletin, published on Thursday 9 January, the European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) has extended the scope of the recommendation concerning the airspace of the Russian Federation. EASA advises against operating in the Russian airspace concerned, west of longitude 60° East, at all flight levels. This recommendation also applies to foreign air carriers which have received safety approval from EASA (Third-Country Operators). The recommendation is valid until 31 July and may be reviewed earlier and adapted or withdrawn, subject to a revised safety and security assessment. No EU airline currently flies to, from or over Russian airspace, but a number of third-country carriers continue to do so despite the risks associated with the war. (AD)
