07/01/25 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 6 January, the European External Action Service (EEAS) announced that it had released a further €15 million in budget support for the Vietnamese government under the EU-Vietnam Sustainable Energy Transition Programme (SETP). In total, EU payments under this programme amount to €63 million in grants to the national budget under agreed performance conditions. The EU says it supports “the creation of an environment conducive to public and private sector investment in renewable energy and energy efficiency” in the context of implementing the Just Energy Transition Partnership (JETP) within the EU’s Global Gateway strategy.
