Study shows that Europe’s business travel managers have shared responsibility when it comes to ground transport safety

Business travel managers and business travellers in Europe have a shared responsibility as well as opportunities to mitigate risk by making intelligent choices about ground transport for business travel, according to a study by the Global Business Travel Association GBTA and the European multi-mobility application FREENOW.

Less than half of business travellers consider ground transport to be the least safe mode of travel, despite the higher risks it presents. 85% of travel programmes have risk-related policies, but only 55% of them deal with ground transport safety in a way that is consistent with these risks.

Companies generally have a formal relationship, contract or commercial account with a ground transport supplier. Not only do these partnerships help to streamline operations, but according to the survey results, at least nine out of ten business travellers believe that such relationships could also significantly increase operational efficiency.
