Dubravka Šuica confirmed thanks to votes of EPP, S&D, Renew Europe, ECR and Greens/EFA

06/11/2024 (Agence Europe) – As announced on Tuesday 5 November (see EUROPE 13518/3), the candidate for the post of Commissioner for the Mediterranean, Dubravka Šuica, has been confirmed by the political group coordinators following her hearing at the European Parliament. She received 59 votes, whereas 51 were necessary to obtain the two-thirds majority required for her confirmation. The EPP, S&D, Renew Europe, ECR and Greens/EFA voted in favour of confirmation, ESN and The Left voted against and PfE requested additional written questions for Ms Šuica, a request which was not granted.
