European Parliament calls on EU to support Taiwan’s meaningful participation in international organisations

On Thursday 24 October, the European Parliament adopted by 432 votes to 60 with 71 abstentions a resolution condemning China’s continued military provocations against Taiwan and its “misinterpretation” of United Nations resolution 2758 (see EUROPE B13510A4).

MEPs believe that this resolution - which recognises that the representatives of the government of the People’s Republic of China (PRC) are the only legitimate representatives of China at the United Nations - takes no position...
