Addictive models and targeted advertising, European consumers are not yet sufficiently protected when it comes to online practices

On the evening of Thursday 3 October, the European Commission published its Digital Fairness Fitness Check, a report assessing consumer protection law with regard to online practices.

This 218-page report is a grouped assessment of three different directives (Unfair Commercial Practices, Consumer Rights and Unfair Contract Terms), with the aim of identifying shortcomings in the European legislative framework for combating unfair online practices.
