As products imported into the European Union, melons and tomatoes harvested in the Western Sahara must indicate their country of origin under EU regulations, and not the name of Morocco, according to a Court of Justice of the European Union judgment adopted on Friday 4 October (see other news).
This information must appear on the products and must not be misleading, which is why their labelling must indicate Western Sahara as their country of origin.
