Without a legal name, a Member State may not prohibit use of terms traditionally associated with meat for a vegetarian product

On Friday 4 October, the Court of Justice of the EU ruled, in Case C-438/23, that in the absence of a legal designation, a Member State cannot prohibit the use of terms traditionally associated with products of animal origin to designate a product containing plant proteins.
