Being an Afghan woman justifies granting of refugee status in EU, rules Court of Justice

In a judgment handed down on Friday 4 October, the Court of Justice of the European Union ruled that when examining the asylum application of an Afghan woman, the competent authorities of the Member States may only take into consideration the nationality and gender of the applicant (joined cases C-608/22 and C-609/22).
