Several European Parliament political groups announce their candidates for 2024 Sakharov Prize

On Tuesday 17 and Wednesday 18 September, several political groups in the European Parliament unveiled the names of their candidates for the 2024 Sakharov Prize.

The ECR group is proposing the candidacy of Edmundo González, “a shining symbol of the peaceful struggle for freedom and democracy and the greatest hope of the Venezuelan people”, according to Italian Carlo Fidanza.
