28/08/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 27 August, the European Union and the government of Lesotho announced the launch of a five-day intensive training course on ‘Strengthening Fiscal Discipline’. The aim of the workshop is to train Lesotho’s planners and senior civil servants in best practices for improving public financial management, enhancing debt sustainability and increasing government revenues. This initiative, funded by the EU through its technical assistance project (‘TAIEX’), will include training modules on climate risk management and financial sustainability. In addition, experts from the Dutch Ministry of Finance and the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles de Belgique will share their experience in helping Lesotho overcome its economic challenges. (BD)
