On 19 August, in collaboration with Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania, the European Commission opened a call for interest for candidates interested in the position of European Coordinator of the Baltic Synchronisation project aimed at synchronising the electricity of the Baltic States with the continental European network (see EUROPE 13455/12), in accordance with Article 6(2) of the Trans-European Energy Network (TEN-E) Regulation. This position involves closely monitoring the last phase of implementation and the progress of the remaining infrastructure investments in the Baltic Synchronisation project. It also involves providing advice and facilitating any measures that need to be taken by the stakeholders. Finally, the person holding this post will have to report to the Commission and the Member States on the relevant progress. Interested candidates must be nationals of the European Union, fluent in English and have at least 10 years of relevant experience. They have until 19 September to submit their applications.
