On 29 May, Anne Sander MEP (EPP, French) criticised the lowering of mycotoxin thresholds in cereals decided at European level.
At the beginning of April, the European Commission adopted two regulations concerning mycotoxins, natural contaminants produced by certain moulds and fungi on several types of plant.
These two texts, which will come into force on 1 July, lower the maximum levels of mycotoxins permitted in unprocessed cereals.
