27/05/2024 (Agence Europe) – At the end of the 77th Cannes Film Festival, which came to a close on Saturday 25 May, five films supported by the European Union through its Creative Europe programme received awards. Payal Kapadia’s All We Imagine as Light, a collaboration between India, France, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Italy, won the Grand Prix and the Special Mention from the French Association of Arthouse and Experimental Cinemas (Association française des cinémas d'art et d'essai). Miguel Gomes won the Best Director award for his film Grand Tour (Portugal, Italy, France). The Norwegian production Armand, by Halfdan Ullmann Tøndel, won the Caméra d’Or and Mongrel (Taiwan, Singapore, France), by Wei Liang Chiang and You Qiao Yin, received the Caméra d’Or Special Mention. Bad for a moment, by Daniel Soares (Portugal) won the Special Mention for Short Film. (NP)
