European Securities and Markets Authority recommends examining advantages of direct supervision at EU level

The European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA) presented, on Wednesday 22 May, twenty recommendations on the development and integration of EU capital markets.

This position paper is part of recent European efforts on the Capital Markets Union (CMU) project, notably through initiatives by the Eurogroup (see EUROPE B13410A7), European heads of state or government (see EUROPE B13394A1) and France (see EUROPE B13411A13).
