Europêche regrets decisions of Indian Ocean Tuna Commission

21/05/24 (Agence Europe) – The results of the latest meeting of the Indian Ocean Tuna Commission (IOTC) were criticised on Tuesday 21 May by the European trade organisation Europêche (see EUROPE B13412A11). “Focusing on fish aggregating device measures, IOTC has successfully created a smoke screen to mask its serious governance deficiencies and failure to adequately manage fish stocks, especially yellowfin and neritic tunas”, according to a press release.
