ACER introduces new ‘Central Europe’ region for calculating electricity capacity

On Tuesday 19 March, the Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) approved the amendments to the ‘Core’ and ‘Italy North’ capacity calculation regions proposed by the transmission system operators (TSOs) (see EUROPE B13308A8), thus creating a new capacity calculation region (CCR) for Central Europe.

CCRs define the geographical areas in the EU where TSOs coordinate capacity calculation and other processes.
