European Parliament adopts its position on Directive creating a European statute for associations

On Wednesday 13 March, MEPs adopted by 490 votes to 69 with 64 abstentions the report by Sergey Lagodinsky (Greens/EFA, German) on the Directive creating a European statute for non-profit-making associations: European cross-border associations (ECBAs).

The text is intended to enable non-profit organisations to have European legal status and thus avoid registration procedures in each country in which they operate (see EUROPE B13349A8).
