EU reintroduces safeguard measure on Myanmar and Cambodian rice

12/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – In 2022, the EU General Court invalidated the implementing regulation imposing a safeguard measure on imports of Indica rice from Cambodia and Myanmar because of failings in the Commission’s investigation. The Commission resumed the investigation in the areas where the mistakes had been made and concluded that it could impose a safeguard measure under the Generalised Scheme of Preferences (GSP) Regulation.
