The European Commission and the European External Action Service (EEAS) will shortly be putting forward a proposal to mobilise, via the EU budget, the profits generated in the EU by the frozen assets of the Central Bank of Russia to support Ukraine.
This proposal should be on the table “by the end of the week or early next week”, said Belgian Finance Minister Vincent Van Peteghem on Tuesday 12 March, after the Ecofin Council.
