European Commission consults on aligning polymer biodegradability criteria with REACH provisions

11/03/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 8 March, the European Commission opened a consultation with a view to bringing the biodegradability criteria for polymers other than coating and water-retention agents used in fertilisers into line with the provisions of the REACH regulation (see EUROPE B13325A9), which aims to better protect human health and the environment against the risks associated with chemical substances.
