28/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – Following a finding by the European Parliament’s Advisory Committee on Harassment, the President of the European Parliament, Roberta Metsola, announced on Wednesday 28 February that a penalty had been imposed on MEP José Ramón Bauzá (Renew Europe, Spanish) for “psychological harassment” of one of his accredited parliamentary assistants. This is a simple warning with no financial penalty and no suspension of parliamentary activity. “This sanction is a reprimand. The MEP concerned has been informed of this decision and has not lodged an appeal”, said Ms Metsola at the start of the plenary session. (BD)
