Police cooperation, EU Council adopts regulation on automated exchange of data

26/02/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Monday 26 February, the EU Council adopted the new ‘Prüm II’ regulation extending the categories of data that can be exchanged automatically for the purposes of police cooperation (see EUROPE B13297A22). The legislation adopted will enable police authorities, inter alia, to search facial images and police records.
