Council of EU and European Parliament close to agreement on maritime accident investigations

Negotiators from the European Parliament and the Council of the European Union are due to meet on Tuesday 13 February to discuss the revision of the Directive establishing the fundamental principles governing the investigation of accidents in the maritime transport sector. According to a diplomatic source contacted by EUROPE on Friday 9 February, a compromise is close.
