Interim legislation on child pornography content, European Parliament and Belgian Presidency of EU Council need more time to reach an agreement

At their first trilogue negotiating session on Monday 12 February, the European Parliament and the Belgian Presidency of the Council of the European Union failed to reach agreement on how long to extend the derogation from the e-privacy directive, which will allow digital platforms to track down online child pornography content on a voluntary basis.
