On Tuesday 6 February, the European Commission announced that the European semiconductor joint undertaking (or Chips Joint Undertaking) had launched calls for proposals worth €216 million to support research and innovation (R&I) in the fields of semiconductors, microelectronics and photonics.
This budget must be supplemented by proportional funding from the States participating in the joint undertaking, as well as by private investment.
