Digital platform workers, Member States to resume talks on 26 January

24/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday, 24 January, the Member States were unable to give their approval to the draft mandate on digital platform workers presented by the Belgian Presidency of the EU Council (see EUROPE 13333/7). Several sources indicate that the decision on this matter will be revisited on 26 January. According to some of them, “agreement was very close” and a new adapted text could facilitate this consensus to be reached on 26 January. One source suggests that these changes could relate to the chapter on legal presumption, which could finally be brought into line with the general approach of the EU Council on this subject.
