Registration of a European Citizens’ Initiative to ban conversion practices targeting sexual and gender minorities in EU

24/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 24 January, the European Commission registered a European Citizens’ Initiative (ECI) calling for a ban on “conversion practices” within the European Union. This initiative aims to outlaw interventions that seek to change, repress or eliminate the sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression of LGBTQI citizens.
