Legislation on cyber resilience, MEPs approve interinstitutional agreement in Parliament committee

24/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Tuesday 23 January, members of the European Parliament’s Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) approved the interinstitutional agreement reached by the EU Council and the European Parliament on 30 November on the Cyber Resilience Act (CRA) (see EUROPE 13305/1). “The CRA will bring benefits to consumers and businesses alike: companies will be able to rely on more cyber-secure products throughout their value chain. Consumers will only be sold products that have been designed with cybersecurity in mind and that benefit from regular security updates throughout their lifecycle. It's a win-win situation”, commented the dossier’s rapporteur, Nicola Danti (Renew Europe, Italian). (TM)
