On the evening of Tuesday 23 January, the Turkish Parliament ratified Sweden’s accession to NATO, after twenty months of negotiations and reforms in Sweden to satisfy Ankara (see EUROPE B13219A1). Sweden’s entry into NATO was approved by 287 votes to 55.
Stockholm is still awaiting ratification by the Hungarian Parliament before it can become the 32nd Ally.
