Croatian women’s rights activist wins Council of Europe Wallenberg Prize

18/01/2024 (Agence Europe) – On Wednesday 17 January, Marija Pejčinović Burić, Secretary General of the Council of Europe, presented the Raoul Wallenberg Prize 2024 to her compatriot Neva Tölle, a Croatian human rights defender renowned for her determination to help women victims of domestic violence and to promote recognition of feminicide. “I know that you have experienced threats, intimidation and obstacles of many kinds”, stressed the Secretary General.
