Share of renewable sources in EU’s gross final energy consumption reaches 23% in 2022

03/01/24 (Agence Europe) – The share of renewable sources in gross final energy consumption at EU level reached 23% in 2022, according to Eurostat on 22 December. Compared to 2021, this represents an increase of 1.1 percentage points. With almost two-thirds (66%) of its gross final energy consumption in 2022 coming from renewable sources, Sweden is at the top of the EU rankings.
