Energy Council, European ministers to seek agreement on extending emergency measures adopted to tackle energy crisis

At the Energy Council meeting on Tuesday 19 December, chaired by Spain’s Minister for the Ecological Transition, Teresa Ribera, she will give priority to reaching a political agreement on three emergency Council regulations adopted in December 2022 under Article 122 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the EU (TFEU).

These measures were adopted last year in response to the explosion in energy prices following Russia’s war of aggression in Ukraine.
