European Parliament/EU Council agreement on shape of future ‘AMLA’

The EU Council and the European Parliament reached, on Wednesday 13 December, a provisional agreement on the creation of a new ‘European authority for countering money laundering and terrorist financing’ (AMLA) (see EUROPE B13292A24). The negotiators have agreed in particular on its supervisory powers and governance, but the Authority’s seat location has not yet been defined (see EUROPE B13291A29).
