New genomic techniques, pesticides and animal welfare on agenda at EU Council meeting on 11 December

The EU agriculture and fisheries ministers will meet for the last time under the chairmanship of Spain’s Luis Planas on Sunday 10 and Monday 11 December in Brussels, with the aim of finalising a common position on the proposed regulation on new genomic selection techniques (NGTs). 

Negotiations on fishing quotas for 2024 will begin on Sunday 10 December (see other news).
