France, Germany and Baltic States call for concrete action to reduce European bureaucracy

At the Competitiveness Council on Thursday 7 December, the ministers responsible for Competitiveness and Industry of the EU27 discussed the administrative burden weighing down European small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and hampering their competitiveness.

The subject has already been addressed, both by the Parliament (see EUROPE B13299A16) and by the Commission, which has proposed a package of legislative measures to reduce the burden of EU bureaucracy (see EUROPE B13248A21).
