Brussels, 27/10/2023 (Agence Europe) – On Thursday 26 October, the European Commission welcomed the signing of three grant agreements worth almost €45 million under the ‘Connecting Europe Facility’ (CEF). The aim is to improve transport links between Moldova and Romania along the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) (see EUROPE 13258/25). The projects will upgrade transport infrastructure at the Ungheni, Albița-Leușeni, and Reni-Giurgiulești-Galați road border crossings. These investments will also strengthen the EU-Ukraine Solidarity Lanes. “Swift implementation is important as the projects will bring EU candidate country Moldova even closer to the EU, giving its citizens and businesses easier and faster access to our internal market”, commented Commissioner for Transport Adina Vălean.
