This revision of the 2010 directive takes account of technological advances such as connected and automated mobility, on-demand mobility applications and multimodal transport services. It also aims to accelerate the availability and improve the interoperability of the digital data that feeds these services. It should make it possible to move forward with the systematic and harmonised deployment of intelligent transport systems, but in a gradual way that takes full account of the cost-benefit relationship and administrative capacity.
