19/10/23 (Agence Europe) – The European University Association (EUA) published, on Thursday 19 October, ‘A Green Deal roadmap for universities’ in line with the ambitions of the European Green Deal. This guide aims to strengthen the contribution of universities to the green transition and highlights the unique capacity of universities to bring together researchers, innovators, the public and private sectors and local communities to tackle climate challenges. Four key areas are identified for transformation and impact: research and innovation, education and students, staff and operations, and public engagement and societal impact. For each area, actions and guidelines are suggested. The EUA is committed to facilitating a systematic dialogue on the needs of the sector, continuing these discussions at a webinar scheduled for 4 December.
