02/10/23 (Agence Europe) – On Friday 29 September, the High Representative of the Union, Josep Borrell, underlined the importance of ongoing cooperation in the fields of security and defence, highlighting the recent creation of the European Union Partnership Mission in the Republic of Moldova (EUPM). During his visit to Chisinau, Mr Borrel and the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, signed the agreement between Moldova and the EU on the status of EUPM. Following a meeting with the Moldovan President, Maia Sandu, Mr Borrell welcomed the government’s commitment to reform, while underlining his confidence in the ability of Moldovan institutions to continue to tackle the fallout from Russia’s aggression against Ukraine. He explained that the EU would continue to show solidarity with Moldova and support it on the path to reform. (CG)
