21/09/23 (Agence Europe) – Following a meeting between Israeli Minister of Foreign Affairs Eli Cohen and High Representative of the EU Josep Borrell in New York on Wednesday, 20 September, the European External Action Service announced that Mr Borrell would visit Israel “at the beginning of December”. In its press release, the EEAS added, “The High Representative will also visit Palestine on this occasion”. During the meeting, Mr Borrell stressed the importance he attaches to “engaging with Israel, one of EU’s closest partners in the region, as closely as possible” and affirmed that the EU is “keen” to develop this strong cooperation further. He also reiterated that the EU is seeking “an open and constructive exchange” with Israel on the Middle East Peace Process. (CG)
